| Trowbridge House is located on 31 privately situated and beautifully
landscaped acres only one mile from the heart of Millerton, New York. This historic house, built in the 1700s, remained in the Trowbridge family until 1948. The grand house has been the scene of many memorable events and has about it an air of permanence and peacefulness. Trowbridge House has been updated and added to over the years and was most recently renovated in 2003. The house maintains it’s original detail and charm while offering the comforts and amenities that have made our guests return time after time. Our dining room floor was originally part of the stables; the living room retains a dumbwaiter used to bring coal up from the cellar on cold winter nights. Rumor has it that the basement was used as a stash house for the speakeasy that occupied a spot across the street during prohibition. This is a house that has seen its share of life. |
